A lovely and substantial tea set. Classic, 19th Century American style.
The set consists of 4 items: a coffee pot, a teapot, a creamer, and a covered sugar bowl. Each is marked Sterling 950.The set sports smooth, tall, Victorian lines with accents of flowers and stalks on the legs and acorn finials atop. Heavy and substantial, a fine example of 19th century American workmanship when. 950 silver items were sometimes preferred over the lesser and more common. No dents or dings, and any shadows or strange people or ghostly shapes in the photograph are reflections. This lovely set comes from the private estate of the popular local jeweler Stanley Minkinow, who displayed it for years in his home.
Minkinow was a Polish Holocaust survivor and a WW2 refugee who joined the American Army to gain a path to citizenship.
