DESCRIPTION : Here is a mid 19th century small Minton Sevres style part tea set. Comprising of six cups and saucers, a milk jug, a sugar bowl, slop bowl and two sandwich plates or tureen stands. Each piece hand made and painted with colourful floral sprays including pink and yellow roses. All pieces have thin blue banding even to the cross over handles on the cups and the milk jug. Also all pieces have gilt lined rims.The cups and saucers are all different weights as are the two dishes. Most pieces are marked to the base with a blue painted pattern number A1908 with two being in green. Three saucers have an impressed uppercase Minton mark with an additional Z with dash through year cypher for 1863. SIZES : The cups measure 1 1/2 inches high 2 5/8 in diameter. Saucers measure 4 3/4 inches in diameter. The milk jug measures 3 1/16 inches high. Sugar bowl measures 2 3/8 inches high. Slop bowl measures 2 inches high and 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Total weight before packing 1.310 kg. CONDITION : All cup handles with light discolouration. One cup with faint tight hairline as in picture 8. One cup with fine tight hairline to base of handle as in picture 7. One cup with staining inside the base as in picture 10.
One cup with light discolouration to inside top rim about a quarter way round. Sugar bowl with discoloured hairline to base and slop bowl with a small chip to top rim with a long looping hairline coming from the chip, both can be seen in picture 9. Milk jug in good condition, six saucers in very good condition and the two dishes/ tureen stands also in good condition.
